Despite these complex challenges, communication between stakeholders remains fragmented, as there is currently no dedicated, operator-led forum in Western Canada for coordinated cathodic protection and electrolysis mitigation.
C5 provides a confidential, operator-led platform for contact sharing, technical coordination, and knowledge exchange on cathodic protection issues. Starting in Alberta and expanding across Western Canada, we offer a structured environment for infrastructure owners to synchronize their electrolysis mitigation efforts and safeguard vital assets.

The Corrosion Control Coordination Committee Canada (C5) serves as a neutral, non-commercial forum for Canadian infrastructure stakeholders to address electrolysis and interference challenges. We facilitate technical coordination between pipeline, energy, and municipal utility owners to manage corrosion risks and safeguard transmission assets. By sharing best practices and engineering data, members collectively mitigate the impact of cathodic protection systems on neighboring structures.
