The Corrosion Control Coordination Committee Canada (C5) is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of technical integrity and collaborative professionalism. Our Code of Conduct outlines the ethical framework and behavioral expectations for all committee members, ensuring a respectful, productive, and synchronized environment for electrolysis mitigation and cathodic protection efforts across Canada.

1. Purpose
This Code of Conduct establishes the expected standards of behavior for all participants in the Corrosion Control Coordination Committee Canada (C5). The goal is to ensure a professional, respectful, and trusted environment that supports open collaboration while protecting the interests of all Members.
2. Application
This Code of Conduct applies to: All Members of C5, All participants in meetings, events, and communications, All interactions conducted under the C5 platform.
3. Core Principles
Members agree to conduct themselves in accordance with the following principles:
3.1 Professionalism
• Act in a professional and respectful manner at all times
• Engage constructively in discussions
• Avoid disruptive, offensive, or inappropriate behavior
3.2 Respect
• Respect the perspectives, experience, and contributions of others
• Encourage open dialogue without criticism of individuals or organizations
• Avoid confrontational or adversarial conduct
3.3 Collaboration
• Participate in good faith to support industry coordination
• Share insights and experiences where appropriate
• Contribute to a positive and productive environment
3.4 Integrity
• Act honestly and transparently
• Avoid misleading or inaccurate statements
• Represent your organization appropriately
4. Confidentiality
C5 operates under the Chatham House Rule. Members agree to: Not attribute statements to individuals or organizations, Respect the confidentiality of discussions, Not share information outside the Committee without permission.
5. Appropriate Use of Information
Members agree that: Information shared within C5 is for coordination and collaboration purposes only. Contact information will not be used for: Marketing or solicitation, Unrelated business development. Members will respect all opt-in data sharing conditions.
6. Non-Commercial Environment
To maintain neutrality: Members shall not promote products or services during Committee activities. Discussions must remain non-commercial and technical in nature. Vendors must adhere to participation limitations defined by the Committee.
7. Vendor Conduct (Additional Expectations)
Vendors and consultants must: Participate only within permitted roles and settings, Refrain from influencing governance or decision-making, Avoid direct solicitation of Members during Committee activities, Respect the operator-led nature of the Committee.
8. Conflict of Interest
Members must: Disclose any conflicts that may influence participation, Avoid using the Committee to gain unfair commercial or strategic advantage, Act in a manner that supports the collective interests of the group.
9. Compliance with Laws and Policies
Members are responsible for: Complying with all applicable laws and regulations, Ensuring participation does not violate their organization’s internal policies, Avoiding the sharing of restricted, proprietary, or regulated information.
10. Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviors are not permitted: Harassment, discrimination, or disrespectful conduct, Sharing confidential or sensitive information without authorization, Commercial solicitation or sales activity, Misuse of contact information, Attempts to influence Committee governance improperly.
11. Reporting Concerns
Members are encouraged to report any concerns related to conduct, including: Breaches of confidentiality, Inappropriate behavior, Misuse of information. Reports may be made to: The Director (initial phase), Committee Executive (future state). All concerns will be handled in a confidential and fair manner.
12. Enforcement
Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in: Verbal or written warning, Restriction of participation, Removal from specific activities, Suspension or termination of membership. Enforcement decisions will be made by: The Director (initial phase), or The Committee Executive (future state).
13. Acknowledgement
By participating in C5, Members acknowledge that they: Have read and understood this Code of Conduct, Agree to abide by its principles and requirements, Accept that violations may result in removal from the Committee. Agree to receive communications from C5 and it's representatives.Â
